Description | Welsey is preparing a paper for the [Royal Astronomical Society] 'on the appearance of the solar corona as photographed during different solar eclipses'. He would like to mention details of the corona seen in photographs taken during the eclipses of 1883, 1885 and 1886. Refers to the 1883 report for which Wesley made two drawings has not been published by the Royal Astronomical Society yet, and a brief report by Lawrance and Woods which was included in Holden's account of the American observations. Refers to a negative by Dr Hector of the 1885 eclipse mentioned in the Proceedings of the Royal Society and the intention to publish it. Wesley asks if the Royal Society will allow him to mention the account of the corona during these three eclipses, accounts for which have not yet been published. |
