Includes a copy of a letter from Wilfred Rowell, HM Consul in Samoa, to the Hydographer of the Admiralty, dated 21 November 1885, consisting of two pages, relating to observation of the 'newly risen' island 'whilst on passage from the Friendly islands to the Navigator islands on steam ship 'Janet Nicoll', and describes the position of the island from compass bearings. |
