Description | Asks to borrow a book from the Royal Society on behalf of the Deutsche Südpolar-Expedition. The title of interest is: Observations of days of unusual magnetic disturbance made at the British Colonial Magnetic Observatories under the departments of the Ordnance and Admiralty printed by the British Government under the Superintendence of Lieutenant Colonel Edward Sabine R A part I, 1840-41 published 1843. Drygalski understands the book contains observations of declination made by James Clark Ross at Christmas Harbour, Kerguelen Island, in the southern winter of 1840, which will be valuable comparative data to that collected by Frisel in the polar years 1902 - 1903 at the Kerguelen station of German South Polar expedition [Gauss Expedition].
