Description'Dear Sirs, At the meeting of the Iron and Steel Institute to be held in May next, Professor Thomas Turner of Birmingham will present a paper on the "Cooling of Cast Iron", and he is desirous of introducing into this paper a reproduction of an illustration from the proceedings of the Royal Society, volume 23, 1874-5, page 222. I should be much obliged if you would grant the requisite permission. Yours faithfully, Bennett H Brough'.

Enclosed is a memorandum for the Assistant Secretary regarding Brough's letter.
