Description | In response to continuing correspodence, informs that the question of a joint meeting of the Royal and Royal Astronomical Societies, to receive reports on the recent Eclipse of the Sun, has been brought to the notice of the Joint Permanent Eclipse Committee and the Council of the Royal Astronomical Society. States that while both bodies are prepared to abide by the regulations of 1899 they recognise that cases may occur in which the prescribed joint meeting would be inexpedient and that in the present case they are willing to leave the decision to the Royal Society. Infroms that the Astronomer Royal and Professor Newall have agreed to defer the reports on the Greenwich and Cambridge Expeditions and would be willing to present them at the joint meeting. Encloses an "Annual Report to the Royal Society for the year ending Nov 30, 1914". |
