DescriptionInforms the Royal Society that papers left by Mr. Stone concerning the Transit of Venus in 1882 are carefully preserved in their library cabinet. Mentions having conducted a search through these papers in response to the Society's inquiry. While the enclosed memoranda provide some insight into the contents related to the exact positions of the stations, the cabinet also contains additional material such as printed documents and observing-books, which have not been examined yet. Expresses his willingness to provide the Hydrographer of the Admiralty with access to these papers if they deem them useful [enclosure not present].
