Description | Informs among the effects of the late Dr [Charles Immanuel Forsyth] Major stored in the Museum for mnay years, is a Berthon folding boat which is marked as being lent by the Royal Society, it was used by Major during his expedition to Madagascar 1894-96. The Museum have received authority from his daughter Signora Galantini Forsyth Major, to 'dispose of the propery' and they would be 'pleased' to return the boat to the Royal Society. Enclosed is a letter from the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, to the Director of the British Museum, dated 14 August 1924. Enclosed is another letter from the Assistant Secretary, to the Director, dated 23 September 1924.
