Burdett refers to himself as a member of the Statistical Society, and remarks on the high title of FRS, as something that cannot be 'bought' but requires 'genuine brain work of a high order'. Describes the Statistical Society's desire for royal patronage, and how a letter from the President of the Royal Society in support of this would make a difference. |
