TitleCopy letter from John David Griffith Davies to Sir Henry George Lyons, [Royal Society]
Date13 October 1939
DescriptionEncloses copy of the first report received from Dr Lewis at Aberystwyth. Delighted to hear Lyons is working on a history of the [Royal] Society as Weld is not inspiring and there is a need for a reliable account. Wonders if Lyons has read Professor Eve's life of Lord Rutherford [1939]. Supports suggestion of making Sir Albert Seward an authorized signature of cheques. Send thanks for memoranda relating to the International Catalogue and importation of the gravity instruments from Holland, will call these to the notice of the Secretaries.
