TitleCopy letter from John David Griffith Davies to Sir Henry George Lyons, [Royal Society]
Date19 April 1939
DescriptionDavies thanks Lyons for his letter. They will do their best to 'deal with' the hiatus in the Archbishop of Canterbury's speech. The draftsman that Stanely Morrison recommended to the Royal Society has submitted lay-outs for the cover of Notes and Records and Davies encloses these [not attached]. The script is based on that used on the Mace. Submits three specimens of cover paper for Lyons' approval. On his recent trip to Aberystwyth, Davies deposited the Society's valuables safely. He spoke to the Librarian about the calendering of the papers and obtained information for a memorandum to the Officers. He will propose to the Officers that the Boyle papers might be done first as an experiment. A cheque for £38.15.5 is enclosed [not attached]. Davies hopes Lyons and wife are enjoying their holiday.
