DescriptionFair copy of the Royal Society's governing statutes, chapters 1-19. With supplementary additions to the statutes. The main text is that of the original statutes of 1663 [ff.2-22] but within that, there are some statutes repealed in favour of the 1728 versions [see for example, Chapter VI, of the elections and admission of Fellows, ff.8-9]. The additions at the end of the volume correspond to changes made in 1730 [again, for example, Chapter VI, of the elections and admission of Fellows, f.23r.] and in 1735 [Chapter VII, of the election of the Council and Officers, f.24r.-v.].

The title page is inscribed: 'The statutes of the Royall-Society of London for Improving Natural Knowledge'.
