DescriptionInforms of a proposal from Mr. [John] Murray to continue, during the summer of 1882, an investigation of the Faroe Channel, started in 1880. States that in 1880, the Lords of the Admiralty were supportive of a similar application by [Charles Thomas] Wyville Thomson, but unable to spare a vessel. States that a vessel will not only help the completion of the Challenger expedition, but also promises valuable scientific results. [See CMO/16/51]
