Description | Complaining about the purchase of a microscope for the Antarctic Expedition, which was ordered by Dr Koettlitz for about £25 with Captain Scott's authorisation. Gregory believes this was too expensive, and had allowed for £15 in his estimates for a suitable instrument. Captain Scott has promised that Gregory will see all subsequent orders for scientific equipment and be expected to initial them for approval. Gregory writes to inform the recipient of this arrangement to ensure future orders are passed to him or his deputy. |
