TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to His Excellency the Russian Ambassador
Date10 July 1896
DescriptionThe President of the Royal Society [Joseph Lister] has received a letter from Privy Councillor Stasow, who had been appointed as the delegate representing Russia at the approaching International Conference on Cataloguing Scientific Literature, stating that owing to indisposition he will be unable to attend. In his letter Stasow makes no mention of any replacement and Foster is directed to express that the Society hopes His Excellency will feel able to take such measures as may be necessary to insure that so important a country as Russia is represented at the Conference, which begins on 14th of July at 11am.
