Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Lord Rayleigh, [John William Strutt], [Secretary, Royal Society] |
Date | 18 July 1896 |
Description | Referring to Rayleigh's memorandum on Mr [Jospeh Norman] Lockyer's illustrations, Collings has already made progress with the drawings for them.
Collings' estimate was before the Sectional Committee, and the various diagrams were forwarded to him for execution as soon as the Council had approved of the vote of the Committee. There were 15 diagrams, mostly estimated for wood blocks. Some were estimated for zinco process. All had to be drawn, and this has now been done. Collings want the author's approval and instructions regarding some doubtful points. Collings' estimate for the whole was £13.
Harrison wonders if Rayleigh thinks the matter has gone too for for reconsideration. Collings has asked Lockyer for approval and instructions on drawings which he had already made, but he has not been able to obtain a reply. |
