Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Richard Tetley Glazebrook, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 28 July 1896 |
Description | Harrison had the minutes of the last Physics and Chemistry Committee ready just when Glazebrook's letter arrived. Explains why it was impossible for him to have attended to them earlier and encloses them in draft [not attached].
Professor Carey Foster desires Harrison not to send [Thomas Edward] Thorpe and [J W] Rodger's paper to him until he returns from abroad.
Encloses Mr [Charles Vernon] Boys' report on Rutherford [not attached].
When [William] Crookes returns Hartley [Hartley's paper] Harrison will act after references to the Secretary.
Harrison was annoyed to learn of the incident with Glazebrook's letters and has taken steps to prevent such an occurrence in future. It was to avoid any similar risks that the rule was made by the Secretaries that referee's reports should be sent to Harrison at the Society. |
