TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster and Lord Rayleigh [John William Strutt], to William Turner Thiselton-Dyer, Fellow of the Royal Society, Chairman of the Botanical Committee
Date1 June 1896
DescriptionExplains why there should not be a meeting of the Botanical Committee on the second Thursday in June. Suggests that when Dyer wishes to call a meeting of his Committee at the Society's apartments, that he first consult the Assistant Secretary as to whether it would be convenient with regards to the other business of the Society.

Will shortly send suggestions as to the most convenient methods of carrying on the work of Dyer's Committee.

The only matter the Society at present has to report to Dyer is a short paper by Professor J B Farmer and Mr J Ll Williams 'On Fertilisation, and the Segmentation of the Spore, of Fucus', which under the powers vested in the Secretaries by the Standing Orders, they have accepted for consideration and had set up for the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]'.
