Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Admiral William James LLoyd Wharton, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 3 October 1896 |
Description | In turning out the safe Harrison has found a sealed packet apparently containing a pass-book and endorsed 'Dr. Young's banker's account for money belonging to the Admiralty', with a note indicating that it was delivered by Dr Young's widow with papers belonging to the Board of Longitude, and sundry other notes.
Nobody seems to know what to do with the item and Dr [Michael] Foster has suggested Harrison ask Wharton to call in and see it next time he is passing. The packet is sealed with the seal of Sir Edward Sabine, former President of the Royal Society. |
