TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Michael Foster, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date13 July 1897
DescriptionThe enclosed circular [not attached] will show that the President [Lord Joseph Lister] quite approved of the Society's suggestions regarding photographing and luncheon. Harrison has engaged a saloon carriage in the train and hopes Foster has secured Sir Joseph Hooker.

Encloses two letters regarding Tsetse Fly, which seem important, and one from Professor [Archibald] Liversidge [no attachments].

Discusses a visit yesterday from Professor Anderson Stuart of Sydney who wished to see Foster regarding coral reef matters. Harrison gathers from Stuart that people 'out there' are still sore about the imputation cast upon their official, Mr [Robert] Etheridge and Mr [Charles] Hedley. The people seem to have been especially stirred by a paragraph in Foster's first letter on the subject in which it is stated that the actions of Etheridge and Hedley is wanting in loyalty to the Committee and this they seem to want withdrawn.
