TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Richard Tetley Glazebrook, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date21 July 1897
DescriptionA paper by [Ludwig] Mond, [William] Ramsay and [John] Shields on the occlusion of oxygen and hydrogen by platinum black has just come in. A former paper by them on the same subject was in the 'Philosophical Transactions [of the Royal Society]' in 1895. The referees were Dixon and [Willliam Chandler] Roberts-Austen. The former is now in America but Roberts-Austen does not go until 5 August and might be willing to act. For the other referee it would be well to choose somebody who is not going on holiday and Rucker recommends Thorpe. As time is short Rucker asks Glazebrook to wire if he approves of this scheme. Asks who Glazebrook proposes to appoint as deputy when Glazebrook goes away.
