Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to G Dickinson, West African Trade Association, 10 Water Street, Liverpool |
Date | 16 August 1898 |
Description | Negotiations are proceeding between the Colonial Office and Royal Society with the view of expert observers being sent out to Africa to study the forms of Malaria prevalent there, with a view to leading to preventive or remedial measures.
In all probability Foster thinks two or more observers will shortly be sent out. Though the disease is perhaps most harmful on the west coast, for several reasons it is desirable that the investigation should begin on the east coast. Foster is sure that the Committee to whom the Society has entrusted the conduct of the investigation in concert with the Colonial Office, will be glad to hear of any help which Dickinson's association can offer. |
