TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Michael Foster, [Secretary, Royal Society]
Date28 September 1898
DescriptionEncloses Professor Meldola's opinion on the lady-bird letter referred to him at Foster's instruction [not enclosed]. Asks to know if Foster concurs with Meldola's suggestion.

Presumes Foster has heard independently about the West African Trade Association at Liverpool, the Secretary to which has heard from Professor Sherrington and fixed a meeting for 8th October at which they trust to see Foster and Joseph Lister. Believes the meeting touched on the Malaria Enquiry.

Discusses obtaining nominations to the four principal countries whose nominations were still awaited for the [International Catalogue] Conference. Has proceeded with arrangements for the dinner and reception. They have not yet received the official nomination of Sir John Gorst or anyone else as the British delegate and Foster may wish to write privately to Lord Salisbury or Sir Thomas Sanderson on the subject.
