Title | Copy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Geheimrath A Ritter von Baeyer |
Date | 14 February 1899 |
Description | Believes that Baeyer is interested in the suggestion that a union or kartel should be established between the principal sample academies, Rucker forwards a copy of a letter which the Secretaries at the Royal Society have [sent?] to Geheimrath [M v Pettenkofer] and to Geheimrath [C v Voit]. Baeyer is probably aware that the Royal Society was asked to issue the invitations with other academies but as yet have received no definite answers from them except for St Petersburg.
They are in communication with some of the [Royal Society's] American colleagues as to which body should regarded as the [next] representative of the science of the United States. |
