TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Sir Richard Strachey, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date11 December 1899
DescriptionIs desired by the President and Council to inform Strachey that they have written to the Treasury describing the arrangements proposed in Strachey's letter of 16th November, stating that they approve the arrangement as the best attainable under existing conditions, and submitting it to the Lords Commissioner of Her Majesty's Treasury for their sanction.

If the Treasury approve the scheme there will be no difficulty in arranging for the proper number of members of the corporation, but the Treasurer [Alfred Bray Kempe] was of opinion that the plan proposed by Strachey would require some modifications and will communicate with Strachey on the point.
