Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Dr Gilbert |
Date | 10 May 1888 |
Description | States that Dr Michael Foster thinks that it would be better for Gilbert to present and make a statement on his paper rather than writing a fresh abstract. This is because Gilbert wished his abstract to be published before the full paper arrived which required it to be considered as a separate communication, contrary to the usual practice of the abstract indicating receipt of the full paper and so both being marked with the same date. The abstract could therefore not be properly counted as such, and so the full paper is now a separate entity.
Rix apologises if Gilbert considers this red tape, but suggests it is common sense. |
