TitleCopy letter from Michael Foster, to Professor H Sidgwick
Date9 February 1900
DescriptionFoster laid Sidgwick's letter before the Committee yesterday and after some discussion the resolution of which Foster encloses a copy [see below], was agreed upon. Thinks he had better explain it in person. Bryce also promised to see and talk to Sidgwick about the whole matter.

The resolution states that the Committee of the Royal Society are prepared to entertain the expression of opinions, in regard to the institution of a new Academy, not merely from Professor Sidgwick and the others originally consulted by the Council of the Society but also from any others whom Sidgwick, Lord Acton and Professor Jebb, acting on their own responsibility, may choose to consult.
