Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir William de Wiveleslie Abney, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 19 January 1901 |
Description | Sends thanks for the prints of the photographs. The removal of the sapper by the war office before all the portraits were photographed leaves three blanks in the series which Harrison hopes to include in the new edition of the 'Record' now in press. These they must do without these for the present but there are three portraits which were photographed; Sir Robert Southwell, Earl of Macclesfield and Sir Joseph Banks, which are not amongst the proofs Abney sent. If the negatives are alright Harrison would be glad to have these for the 'Record'. In addition to these, the four Harrison encloses [not enclosed] make up the series he should like to reproduce.
Discusses various modes of reproduction for the portrait photographs and suggests good half tone blocks would be best. |
