Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to, The Secretary, Telephone Department, GPO |
Date | 2 February 1903 |
Description | There is still something wrong in their system at the exchange. Harrison explains he had rung up the Government Office and had been placed in connection with it, and while he had the receiver to his ear waiting for the other person to come to the instrument, somebody else telephoned Harrison and was turned on to him in the confusion of the original conversation. It took a long time to obtain the original correspondent. With a properly working automated system, this ought to be impossible. |
