Title | Copy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Professor Augustus Edward Hough Love, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 18 December 1903 |
Description | Larmor informs Love that he is sending him a long paper by the 'most successful of the English optical inventors', noting that it will need particular scrutiny as his learning is confined to Coddington and he appears unaware of recent foreign work. Larmor suggests that Love report on it himself, but suggests he could consult a colleague, and notes that at the least it will need to be reduced in length.
Reverend Frank Hilton Jackson's paper is expected to be found not to be suitable for Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, and so Larmor proposes that they instead offer him five pages of Proceedings of the Royal Society to state his results. |
