Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor William Dobinson Halliburton, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 15 March 1904 |
Description | Harrison names the referees on Major Elliot's paper as Sir Lauder Brunton and Dr C J Martin, with Brunton already having returned the paper with a favourable report on 8 February.
Elliot sent a portfolio of plates to illustrate the paper along with the manuscript, and noted his intention of cutting them up and inserting extracts only into the paper for publication, with alterations made to the text accordingly. Elliot was unable to be in London on the day of the reading, so Harrison sent him a note reminding him of the plates, and retained the complete manuscript ready for alteration by the author. He has had no response, so assumes Elliot has been sent to India at short notice. The paper has been sent to the second referee in the meantime, and Harrison asks what should be done. |
