DescriptionEncloses a formal memorandum embodying the conditions enumerated in Minchin's letter to Professor E R Lankester on 30 January [not enclosed]. Asks for this to be signed and returned.

Is sorry Minchin did not find any of the instruments at the Society suitable for his use and authorizes him to purchase the three and two millimeter Zeiss lenses at £20 each, and the two ocular 12 and 18 at about 30 shillings each. All bills for instruments and materials should be sent to the Society. Asks for a note of the price before Minchin orders the dissecting microscope. It is understood Minchin agrees that all apparatus purchased for the research in Africa shall be the property of the Society and should be returned.
