Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Sir William Turner Thiselton-Dyer, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 19 January 1905 |
Description | Has received Thiselton-Dyer's letter of 15 January and the minutes which he has prepared and which, with some small amendments, will be put into type. Replies to various complaints and statements in Thiselton-Dyer's letter concerning the reappointment of the Committee with the addition of Surgeon General Branfoot and Colonel [David] Bruce, why Mr Holderness was not officially summoned, why members of the Animal Diseases sub-committee were not summoned, and the members of the sub-committee.
The ad interim report was incorporated in Geikie's letter of 12 January 1904 to the India Office, and a draft was sent before hand to all members of the Committee.
The report of the Imperial Bacteriologist on Rinderpest was a matter for the sub-committee to deal with and report on to the general committee, which is why it was only sent to the Sub-Committee.
Last week's meeting was rather tangled but this was entirely due to Thiselton-Dyer keeping the papers relating to the meeting in his possession since November, and not returning them until a few minutes before the meeting. |
