Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor [Edward Alfred] Minchin, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 29 July 1905 |
Description | Minchin's letter to E R Lankester of 13 June was considered by the Tropical Diseases Committee on 27 July. States resolution adopted in response: that Minchin be authorized to prolong his stay in Uganda until the end of December if necessary. Regarding the proposed transportation of the laboratory at Entebbe the Colonial Office has definitely assured them that nothing will be done before the views of the Society in the matter have been received and fully considered. If Minchin has any further suggestions or arguments to offer about the proposed transference of the laboratory, Geikie would be glad if Minchin would communicate them to him. The Committee have asked Geikie to obtain Minchin's opinion as to the desirability of providing fly-proof cages for the monkeys. If the adoption of this would allay the opposition, asks if Minchin would recommend their provision and to state approximately how many square feet of netting would be needed. |
