Description | With reference to the Under Secretary's reminder that the letter from the Colonial Office of 25 July to the Royal Society, has not been answered, there has been no meeting of the Malta Fever Committee since the receipt of that letter and the members of the Committee being dispersed for their holidays, it has not been possible to summon them together. Is sure the Committee will be pleased to know that the Government of Malta has taken steps in the direction indicated by the Society is reference to the sanitary inspection of Malta, and hopes that the arrangements made may meet the requirements of the case. Regarding the length of time the English Officer of health, if sent to the Colony, would remain there, the Committee will consider the whole question in the light of the Governor's letter of 6 July, and immediately after their meeting Geikie will inform the Under Secretary of their recommendation. |
