Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Michael Foster, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 24 October 1905 |
Description | Apologizes that he has not been able to send down the papers themselves in the short time left before tomorrow's meeting. Encloses a pretty full paper of agenda to show what has been going on since last July.
Lists the principal business dealt with by the Committee since Foster last attended a meeting: the Memorandum of suggestions for discussion at the conference with the Foreign and Colonial Office; the Conference itself and the consequent official letter to the Colonial Office setting out particulars of further investigation; correspondence and discussion regarding the establishment of a professorship of protozoology and negotiations with the Colonial Office as to the amount of a grant from the Tropical Diseases Committee for this; the extension of Minchin's commission, the publication of Greig's long report by the Stationary Office, the occurrence of Sleeping Sickness among the Indians contingent in Uganda; the receipt of three reports from the Malta Fever Committee, which so far have all been published. The full papers will be at Foster's service if they have time to look in at any time tomorrow before the meeting. |
