Description | Is directed by the President and Council of the Royal Society to beg that His Majesty's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs will cause their sincere thanks to be conveyed through the proper channels to the Spanish and French Government for the valuable assistance given to the Eclipse Expeditions which were dispatched to observe the Total Solar Eclipse of August.
In particular the President and Council would be glad if their special thanks might be conveyed to he following for their personal attention: Captain Lyons RE and B F E Keeling; Major Johnstone RE; Major Paul Durand; the Municipality of Guelma; Monsieur Joly, Monsieur Auguste Bachotet; Monsieur Trepied; Edward Harker; General Don Juan Maurique de Lara; Senor Don Sanchez Ortiz; J H White, W Henry Hodgson and the Military Governor of Burgos Province, Spain. The positions of each in the list are also provided. |
