TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Dr Almroth Edward Wright, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date21 November 1905
DescriptionHas Wright's letter of yesterday with his corrected proof, diagrams et cetera but is afraid it will not be practicable to let him see a revise of such a heavily corrected paper by Thursday morning, so the proofs to be laid on the table in the meeting will have to be the uncorrected proofs. Harrison also hesitates to accept without higher authority such numerous and expensive corrections, which amount to material alterations of the paper and are not, with very few exception, corrections of printer's errors. Has been directed to remind authors that papers presented to the Society are understood to be in their final form, carefully revised for press. Making substantial alterations in the text or illustrations after the paper has been set up is a source of great expense to the Society and of delay in publication.
