| Description | In reply to Boys' letter of the previous day, there are difficulties in the way of granting permission at present to the 'Gas Lighting Journal' to publish Boys' prospective paper in full. The condition is that advance proofs may be sent to journals after the proof of a paper communicated and read to the Royal Society has been corrected and approved for press. Boys' paper has not yet been received. Moreover as they have no knowledge of its length or illustrations, they are not in a position to judge how long it may be before the stage is reached at which an advance proof might be sent to journals for publication. |
