Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Walter Frank Raphael Weldon, Fellow of the Royal Society, Chairman of the Zoology Sectional Committee |
Date | 22 March 1906 |
Description | Harrison reports that two referees' reports have been received for 'On observations on the development of Ornithorynchus' by Professor James Thomas Wilson and James Peter Hill, communicated by Sir William Turner. Dr Sidney Frederic Harmer recommends publication in full in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, while Adam Sedgwick recommends partial publication, with suggested omissions and contractions. He asks that Weldon nominate a third referee to settle the matter.
Harrison also states that Adam Sedgwick has declined, due to pressures of work, to act as the third referee for 'The growth of the Oocyte in Antedon: a morphological study in the cell-metabolism' by Dr Gilbert C Chubb, communicated by Professor Ernest Henry Starling. Weldon is asked to nominate a third referee in Sedgwick's place, and gives the first two referees as Professor John Bretland Farmer and Professor Sydney John Hickson. |
