Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor Sidney Martin, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 22 May 1906 |
Description | Harrison forwards a letter from Dr [Augustus Desire] Waller, on behalf of the Physiological Society, to the President of the Royal Society, suggesting he will be influenced by Martin's view, as Chairman of the Physiological Committee, on whether the Society should be represented on the proposed central London Committee for the preparation of evidence to be presented to the Royal Commission on experiments on animals. Having been authorised to forward it to Martin first, Harrison asks that Martin return the letter as soon as possible with a note of his opinion.
He highlights that the Council of the Royal Society passed a resolution last month which may have influenced the Government in appointing the Royal Commission, and he encloses a copy. Harrison also encloses a copy of a circular letter which the Physiological Society has been sending to the other societies. |
