Description | Harrison explains that in the course of the workmen carrying out work on the roof of the Royal Society, one of the large ornamental horizontal lights over the library has cracked across. He is sure they will replace it, but informs the Clerk of Works so that the men may be told to proceed with the necessary caution.
He also asks for more detail about the work they are doing, as it seems more extensive than the letter of 2 April indicated, and so likely to exceed the timeframe given. If, as he gathers, they are working on the skylights, he asks that they also ensure that the fan lights in the central skylight are properly hung. |
