Description | Harrison complains about an error whereby a criticism of the first proofs of the figures in the paper by Dixon and Bradshaw in Proceedings of the Royal Society A 529 were printed as a footnote on plate 2. He questions why they thought it was intended to be printed, and asks why they did not consult them prior to doing so, particularly when they could have telephoned them. The sheets of engravers pulls were, as usual, sent only for guidance in printing.
The authors have complained, and Harrison sees no excuse for the mistake. The authors wish them to be omitted in their private copies, and he states that if these are already printed, they will have to print them again at their own expense, as the error was theirs and they did not consult the Society. |
