| Description | Geikie states that the large Antarctic maps, of which Shaw has had copies, are to be printed off and the Royal Society have been asked how many they would like. He suggests that Shaw would need twelve for his own needs, but if he carries out his plan to use these maps for the illustration of meteorological reports, then he will need at least 750. He belives it likely the stones will be cleared for something else soon after printing, so there is some urgency.
He proposes that Shaw, or his staff, see the authorities at the Geographical Society so he may show exactly what he requires and make arrangements with them regarding the execution of the work. |
