Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Edward Alfred Minchin, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 18 October 1907 |
Description | Geikie cannot find any evidence of an agreement to allow Minchin to send the results of his investigation of the development of the trypanosomes in the tsetse fly directly to Sir Edwin Ray Lankester for publication in the Quarterly Journal of Microscopial Sciences, and asks to be directed to Minchin's source of authority for this action, as ordinarily it would be submitted to the Tropical Diseases Committee, under whose auspices he went to Uganda, to decide on the best way of publishing it.
He states that the balance from grants is to be returned to the Treasurer. If the grantee wishes to use the funds in a manner other than for that which they were allocated, they must return the money and submit a fresh application to be submitted to Council. The two purposes Minchin describes, do not come within the original object of the £75 grant, so will require fresh applications. |
