Description | Harrison, in reviewing the office following the upheaval caused by making arrangements for the funeral [of Lord Kelvin], has come across three opened letters and is uncertain whether Geikie has seen them. He also found an opened parcel from Dr Wilson and some plates of cloud forms.
Miss Mackie has completed the copy of the list of Antarctic plates which Geikie wanted, and Harrison will send this on if Geikie wishes to have it at Haslemere. Harrison is in the office that week and from Wednesday onwards of the following week, but wishes to get out of town on the Monday and Tuesday. The holiday has been extended to cover Wednesday and Thursday in lieu of the time spent on arrangements for Lord Kelvin's funeral. In listing the days worked by staff on the arrangements, he expresses a hope that on any future such occasion that they may be allowed to organise the work more systematically.
Harrison sends good wishes for the new year. |
