Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie to Professor [William Carmicheal] McIntosh |
Date | 27 February 1908 |
Description | The Council of the Royal Society voted for a sum of one hundred pounds to aid McIntosh in publication of his papers and Geikie hopes that this assistance will be of use in his work. Geikie writes that we have lost dear old Pettigrew, he will be much missed and he wonders whether his life long work on [Shirals] was brought to completion. Pettigrew had amassed a vast collections of drawings of many parts and they must have cost him a fair amount of thought and time, it would be a pity if this collection was lost. |
