Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie to W [William] N [Napier] Shaw FRS |
Date | 28 April 1910 |
Description | Geikie encloses a rough draft of the kind of statement he thinks should be made as to Captain Scott's complaints in the preface to volume II of the meteorological volume. A copy has been send to Captain Scott before he goes on his expedition. Most of Scott's complaints had no real [formation] and Geikie feels that if Shaw had said all that he might have said on the subject of the meteorological work of the "Discovery" Shaw might have greatly damaged the scientific reputation of the staff. Geikie leaves for Rome tomorrow but should be glad to have Shaw's observation on the accompanying draft.' [no enclosure] |
