DescriptionA letter from Mr Dakin of New York, who was invited to deliver the Croonian Lecture, declining on the grounds of ill-health. The second string was Professor Haberlandt of Graz who was to be asked to deliver a lecture on "The sense organs in plants". Harrison asks Darwin, as one of his proposers, whether he would write to him to ascertain whether he can accept the invitation.
