| Description | Petavel's paper on 'The new Standard of Light' has been laid before the Physics Committee which recommends the Council to publish it in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]', and they suggest that it be modified in the sense indicated in the enclosed notes and queries which the Committee generally agreed. If he is prepared to introduce the modifications proposed the paper will be sent for the purpose. Only illustrate it with figures that are absolutely necessary to elucidate the text, as the present are thought to be of a scale beyond the usual custom. |
