| Description | In answer to Lodge's enquiry Harrison thinks he will find the photograph he requires among the plates illustrating Prof Dixon's paper in the Philosophical Transactions A, volume 200 (1092) p.315. There are several photographs there of cyanogen explosions taken on swifty revolving films.
Harrison fears he is unableto name any general index that Lodge could consult for papers subsequent to 1883; Dulau's doesn't profess to be more than a book seller's catalogue, the library has various annual bibliographies and there and now various volumes of the International Catalogue of Scientific Literature. The Society has recently published (through the Cambridge University Press) three volumes towards a subject index of papers published from 1800 to 1900; Harrison suggests the third volume of this (heat, light, and sound). |
